Pure Girl

It was a weekend of inspiring worship, great speakers, pillow fights, pj contests, a fashion show, obstacle course, manicures and tons of fun!

It happens to us all....

Alright, I know that it happens to us all, but this is my little girl. She is growing up. I know they have to do it. I know that they get taller. And I know that there is nothing that I can do to stop it. The other day I took Abbey and Emma shopping for their Easter dresses. We had fun...between them picking out some interesting dresses, they ultimately chose some that are very cute. Abbey had some of her own money to spend. It used to be that when she had some cash she would run straight to the toy aisle...not this time. This time she ran to the SHOE aisle. I really didn't think I would be this sad about my little girl choosing shoes over toys, but somehow this one struck me hard...

Awana Game Day

Saturday the kids from Hope went to Awana game day. It was a chance for our kids to compete against several other churches in Awana Games. It is a very serious venture for many of these kids. There are real refs and sadly real rules. Our kids kept getting disqualified because they hadn't had as many practices as many of the teams. Some of these churches had been in serious training for "the games". We, on the other hand, had one.... On the way home our kids agreed that if there were no rules they probably would have won! Next year we already have a plan. Not only will we begin our training much earlier, we will also put our kids on a serious daily regimin of protein shakes! Some of those kids were giant!

Crazy!

This is information that our state exec was shown from the International Misson Board this week. It is crazy to think how much our world is in constant change...and what does that mean to us as we try to reach our world for Christ?

Our new plush toy

Lauren came home from school the other day begging us to donate blood. At school they told the Kindergarteners that if they could get their parents to donate blood they would recieve a stuffed toy. So when Lauren gave her sweet little smile and batted her long pretty eyelashes... Daddy caved and went to donate. He was there for two hours, but it was worth it for his little girl to get....

Emma and I got quite a kick out of it! And Lauren does love her new plush toy!

An interesting tidbit of information this red blood cell is 1,000,000 the size of an actual red blood cell. In case you were wondering....

Ouch

Josiah has been very clumsy lately, it seems every time we turn around he is falling. Up the stairs, down the stairs, walking from the table to the couch, itt really doesnet matter when or where. A week ago today Josiah fell and hit his forehead climbing up the basement stairs. He ended up with a huge bruise on his forhead and two black eyes. Today on the way out of the church he fell down the stairs once again and this time he hit the back of his head. Through many tears he said, "Mom why can't the world be soft?!?" So true isn't it? I think I've wondered that a time or two myself.

More than football

At Bible study last night I mentioned a video that made me cry (just a little). Anyway here it is. It is a challenge to do something that matters. Make a difference in someone's life. I'm thankful that Jesus took the time to make a difference in my life.

Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on a cross. (Philippians 2:6-8)

Basketball

Basketball has become a new love of Abbey. All season her team struggled. They won their first game and then lost every other game all season. It was a little discouraging for them. Then in the tournament the unbelievable happened...they started winning! They won their first game of the tournament...Abbey made half of the points for her team (grated it was only 4 points, but it was still half!) They won 9 to 8. Then they won their second game, a team that had beat them 20 to 9 the last time they played them. Finally, they were faced with the best team of the league. The girls on the other team towered over our little girls...they were beasts. Our team held them off for the first half of the game and we thought they might have a chance at the championship...but then the only girl in the league that can do layups got a hold of the ball and ran up the score. Second place it was. But for losing every game but one all season second is something to be proud of!! Great job team!
