A funny thing happened today....

Okay, so you all may remember Jim and the lunch he packed for Josiah a while back...you know the sleeve of crackers and the jar of peanut butter. Well, sadly I think I may have one upped him in the lunch department. Today in the rush of taking cupcakes to school for his bday, getting shoes on, and getting his backpack on....I forgot his lunch. I didn't even think about it until right before I went to pick him up. However, that is not the bad part of the story. He had left his lunch box at school last week and so when he went to lunch today his lunchbox was sitting neatly in his cubbie. It seemed normal to him. So off to lunch he went. He opened his lunch box and found a peice of chicken, so he handed it to his teacher and asked her to heat it up for him.... It was covered with a thick layer of mold. His teacher said, I didn't think you packed that for him, but you never know... At least he didn't eat it, but it does worry me a little that it didn't seem a little disgusting to him.

Happy 5th Birthday Josiah!!

I can't believe my little boy will be five on Tuesday! We had his birthday tonight at the park, and besides being blown away with the crazy wind it was a lot of fun!

Josiah recieved way more than he needed! Thanks so much to everyone who came. It was a ton of fun. My favorite part was when we were playing games with all the kids and Josiah started to walk away. We said come on Josiah let's play and he said happy as can be "no fanks (thanks)".

Josiah feels right at home between two girls. I guess that's what comes from having 3 sisters!

Crazy Hair!

It was crazy hair day at school yesterday, so Emma wore one of the wigs I got on clearance after Halloween. She even wore it to free breakfast day at Chik-fil-a! She has one great sense of humor. She thought it was hilarious that people were pointing, laughing and staring at her!

The Day I Have Dreamed Of....

For a full year I have dreamed of this day. A day free of guinea pig smell, free of the wood chips and tirds on my floor.... Today is the day I have been freed. Yes the guinea pigs "sold" (actually they were given away) in my neighbors garage sale! Yippee! Of course I agreed to let Abbey buy a Gecko and said I would think about a dog in the future... I am going to put both of those off as long as possible. Next time you see Abbey please tell her what bad pets Geckos make....

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

Our Easter started with dying eggs and having our traditional egg wars. It was a tradition we had in the Macy house as kids and we do it in our now as well. We dyed our eggs and they were beautiful and then not even five minutes later all of our eggs were cracked. The idea is that you believe your egg is the strongest egg so you challenge other egg holders to a dual. One person holds their egg still and the other hits it with their egg. Whoevers egg does not crack wins the dual and gets to keep the other persons egg. Whoever has the most eggs at the end wins...sounds vicious...well I guess it is.

Next on the weekend docket was the Church Easter egg hunt. It was a ton of fun! Face painting, lots and lots of eggs, prizes, games and did I say fun. God multiplied like the loaves and fishes because we had twice as many kids at the event than we have had in past years!

Today began with a sonrise service at 7 am, Easter play at 8 am, breakfast fellowship at 9am and easter play again at 10:30! Whew! Were we all tired...we crashed on the couches this afternoon, I think we all fell asleep at one time or another!

Here are the kids in their Easter outfits! Much better than the crazy dresses they picked out last year...I'm sure some of you remember those! Even Josiah got in on the action this year...notice the vest and tie!

Good Feet?

Many of you know I have had foot pain for the past two months due to wearing heels for two full days at WER. Finally, I had enough of wearing sneakers and was really missing my cute shoes so I went to the doctor. She basically said, wear sneakers and ugly shoes with big toe boxes (not her exact words, but close.) She also recommended getting some good orthodic inserts and mentioned the Good Feet store. So off I went this weekend, thinking maybe I just might be back in my cute shoes for church on Sunday with a little help from the Good Feet Store.

Now I knew I would have to pay a little bit for orthodics and was prepared to spend $50 even $100 for a little comfort (and cute shoes). So I sat down with the Good Feet lady and told her my woes. She was very sympathetic and had just the solution. She helped me try several different orthodics and we finally settled on the perfect pair. Actually a set of three, for different shoes and occasions, one for my everyday shoes, one for exercising and one to wear around the house. Then came the moment of truth she brought out her pad and paper and said, now for these three orthodics your total will be.....$550!!!!! So I got out of there as fast as I could...using some lame excuse like I need to talk to my husband about this first. And off I went to Wal-mart to find some more reasonable shoe inserts.

So I'm standing in the foot care aisle when a lady standing next to me says, "so you've got foot pain too?" I said, "Yes the ball of my foot has been killing me for about two months." She said, "me too. I just drove all the way over to the Northeast side of Indy to the Good Feet Store and they told me it would be $550 dollars!" Then it clicked...we had seen each other just an hour before. So funny!! And by the way...my Wal-Mart orthodics totaled $7. 59!

Splash Universe

We went up to Shipshewanna over spring break and spent the night at the indoor water park, Splash Universe. We had a blast playing in the water, going down the slides and jumping from lilly pad to lilly pad.

Emma was chosen as the magician's helper.
.

Josiah loved the marrionettes. (He really was great...he had one chinese acrobat marrionette that did acrobatics on a miniature bar...very creative!)
.

And Abbey won the air hockey tournament. I guess all the practice she has had playing against her Mom has really paid off! She beat all of the boys! Emma made it to the semi round. It is probably good it wasn't sister against sister in the finals, it may have gotten vicious!

Lauren had a blast on the big water slide.
