Friday night we went to Conner Prairie by Candlelight. Conner Prairie is a recreated prairie town where there are actors throughout the villiage who act out different storylines. At Christmas they have a special time where they show how Christmas was celebrated in the Prairie town. The kids were shocked that the children back in that time would only get one present (if that) and chocolate was such a luxary that they only had it at Christmas time. We visited several different homes and ended in the home of Dr. Cambell, the rich family in town, and had cocoa and cookies. My prediction was that the girls would love it and Josiah would complain the entire night...I was right.
They were also having a gingerbread house exhibit. Here are a few of our favs...
